The game schedule for both days has been posted (click Schedule on the navigation bar on the left).
On the first day, Saturday April 25th 2009, we have a 22-game double-elimination tree which will result in 8 of the 16 teams moving on to the finals. On the second day, Sunday April 16th 2009, we have a standard single elimination tree that will lead to a single winner for the tournament! A grudge match between semi-finals losers will also take place to determine the 3rd and 4th place.
All games will be a single period of 20 minutes, but the final may be a little longer if time allows. |

Early bird registration has been closed for a week, and you may notice that all the registration slots are now full. Only a handful of teams have not submitted payment, so this roster is looking more and more like our official tournament roster.
We want to give shout-outs to the three fantastic US teams on the waiting list for their patience and understanding. Honestly, we'd really wish everyone could play - but we also want to insure that everyone gets some decent track time, so 16 teams is really the maximum we can afford. Maybe we'll be able to schedule Beast of the East on a three-day weekend next year, who knows?
In any case, stay tuned for updates at an increased frequency as the tournament draws closer... We'll definitely have one for you in the coming week. |

Montreal Roller Derby League is proud to announce that the Beast of the East tournament still lives in 2009 and is currently scheduled for April 24-26 2009.
The site's content will constantly be updated - feel free to check it regularly.
The registration process will be more strict in 2009 to prevent the last-minute chaos we lived through in 2008, so please mark you agendas as the limit dates become available. We all want to see you here! |
