Google Apps - Education Edition
August 2008
The Google Apps Educational Suite and Open Office was rolled out to the division for the 2008-2009 school year. Staff will have access to the email, docs, calendar, website, and chat programsm with Google Apps. Check out the presentation below that explains the advantages of this implementation.
September 2008
Mecklenburg County Schools applied for a Productivity Investment Fund Grant from Governor Tim Kaines Office. Below are the links to the application and information used to apply for the grant.

Sheila Beck was hired as the MCPS Google Applications Implementation Specialist
 She created the Virginia Open Classroom Project Website to document the implementation process of Google Applications.
