Our class took part in Our Really Exciting Online Project (O.R.E.O.) This was a nation wide project that included 712 classes nation wide. Participants were from the U.S.A as well as Australia, Canada, Italy, Japan, Scotland and the Virgin Islands.
Students had two attempts to stack a tower of cookies as high as he/she could, before a tumble. Below is the data we collected along the way. This was a fun way to work on counting, estimating, probability, averaging and tally marks.
The average highest stack overall for First grade was 16 cookies. Mrs. Lusby's class average was about 15 cookies.
