Faith Pharmacy

Faith Pharmacy is in its eighth year of providing free medications and assistance to the needy people of Lexington and the surrounding area. Faith Pharmacy is located at the East Seventh Street Center and is open every Saturday morning from nine until approximately noon. The people we serve come from referrals from doctors or social service workers. Each person receiving medications is counseled by a pharmacist to ensure they understand their medications. The person is then assisted by an administrative person in the preparation of forms to enroll them in a prescription assistance program offered by the pharmaceutical companies to help low-income citizens. If they qualify for assistance, they will receive three months of medications free. With the exception of three paid personnel (part time) all of our personnel are volunteers, including the pharmacists. Since Faith Pharmacy opened its doors it has helped over 1,400 patients enter long term pharmaceutical programs. Volunteers are always needed on Saturday mornings. If you would like to help, please contact Mary Jo Dendy at 312-3855 or Jan Scribner at 273-4753. We look forward to hearing from you and believe you will enjoy a most worthwhile volunteer activity.
