Environmental Economics 
Environmental economics is a broad area within modern economics, covering human interaction with the natural environment directly and indirectly.
Natural resources enter the economy in three different ways
- Nature value as such
- Input factor in production of consumables
- External effects on nature from production of other goods
The
last bullet point includes pollution disturbing and destroying natural
environment not reflected in the production cost of the polluting
industry.
