Manny's Match Point

What is Manny's Match Point?

We've committed ourselves to participating with Team in Training to run The Inaugural Rock 'N' Roll Seattle Half Marathon to raise funds for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. As many of you know our dad, Manny, was recently diagnosed, and has begun treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, so this is much more than simply a personal training goal. But it is personal.

Although we haven't had much time to react or fully understand the challenges that lie ahead for him and our family, we choose to run for him and other cancer patients, survivors, and their families. This is a concrete way for us to move forward with Manny as he fights and succeeds in this challenge.

While we are training daily to run this race together on June 27th, our real goal is to raise over $7000, which will go towards research, patient services, and financial aid to individuals affected by leukemia or lymphoma. Our run is partly a symbolic gesture, but support for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society provides real aid and advocacy to people facing difficulty, uncertainty, and fear.

We are Manny's daughters Gina Munar, Lisa Packard, Monica Munar Bafaro and we're joined by Gina's husband, Ed Nakata. We choose this path because we choose hope over fear, action over surrender.

Match Point is a term in tennis in which the player needs one more point to win the match. Your support means that you choose to run with us and help us gain that point for Manny and others facing a similar challenge.

Thank you in advance for your support and check back for updates on our progress.
