Low-Income HelpYMCA OF EDMONTON CANADIAN TIRE JUMPSTART PROGRAMTo help promote fitness and involvement in sports and recreation programs for our children, the YMCA of Edmonton is participating in a program to assist low-income families with the cost of these activities. Jumpstart is an initiative from the Canadian Tire Foundation for Families. The purpose of the program is to assist low-income families in accessing physical recreation programs for children ages 5 to 18 years. Jumpstart dollars can be applied to registration fees for physical recreation programs such as learning to swim, soccer leagues, basketball leagues, baseball leagues, gymnastics, dance classes etc. Day camps do not qualify. Families are able to access a maximum of $200 per child/youth (5-18 yrs.) per session. All funds go directly to the recreational agency that the child/youth registers in. Call the YMCA at 429-9622 for more information and an application.
