Raymond T. Frost
is the current Executive Chairman of Magellan Technology Pty. Ltd. He
has been the President and CEO of Magellan since 1996 and the Executive
Chairman and CEO since 2004. In his commercial life Mr. Frost now
has 15 years experience as a Director and CEO, he has served on the
Boards of companies listed on NASDAQ and on the Australian Stock
Exchange. Mr. Frost has extensive experience in the development of
logistics technology, in RFID and in the application and writing of
International Standards. He was co-author of the first ISO standard for
RFID for shipping containers and was also the co-author of the IATA
standard RP 1740c which deals with RFID for airline baggage.
Mr.
Frost was the founding Chairman of the Australian Standards Committee
for Automatic Identification and he has represented Australia in a
number of overseas forums. From 1988-1992 he was a consultant to
various organizations in relation to International Standards, RF safety
and logistics technology. These included Bull information Systems, EB
Signals, Australia Post, Digital Equipment Corporation, Queensland
Rail, the Australian Defence Force and Hong Kong International
Terminals amongst others.
Mr. Frost, prior to entering business, had an extensive international
military career. After graduating from the Royal Military Academy,
Sandhurst in 1961, he served in the British and Australian armies in
various transportation, distribution and logistic system appointments.
He studied radar at Southampton University in the UK and has a command
certificate for ocean-going military vessels. He is a graduate of the
Australian Command and Staff College and the Australian Joint Services
Staff College. He was promoted to the rank of full Colonel in 1982. He
left his last military appointment as Director of Logistic Development
(Army) for Australia in 1988. |
