Magellan Technology Pty. Ltd. was established in Perth, Western Australia
Development of first RFID microchips and readers at 132 kHz (LF)

1995
Conducted first ever successful read and write LF RFID aviation baggage tagging trial between Frankfurt and Hanover by Deutsche Aerospace and Lufthansa

1996
Relocation to Sydney, Australia

1997
Invention of Phase Jitter Modulation (PJM) using the new ISM High Frequency band at 13.56MHz (HF)

1998
Nippon Signal of Japan licenses PJM for reader manufacturing

1999
Nippon Signal wins Japan Post development project for Magellan's PJM technology

2000
Infineon Technologies licenses PJM

2001
PJM accepted by ISO Geneva as a candidate technology for a new world standard
First HF PJM microchip production in the USA

2002
Invention of first fully stackable RF technology PJM StackTag®
Participation in Trans Pacific Aviation Baggage Trial (using PJM) sponsored by FAA

2004
Publication of International Standard EIC/ISO 18000-3 Mode 2 (PJM) in August
