MY Authorization Visit:

A huge thank you to Mrs. Rose and Mrs. Muench for guiding us through our authorization visit.  The reviewers were impressed with the school and gave us some solid feedback on areas in which we can improve.  You should be very proud of your students who demonstrated a good understanding of their roles as internationally minded, lifelong learners.

Language A & B

Students are continuing their study of House of the Scorpion.  They are also furthering their strong foundation in grammar.  This week we will be working on direct and indirect objects.

In Spanish, we learned about the Day of the Dead celebration and the ways in which it is observed throughout the Spanish speaking world.  Students made Day of the Dead bread in our bread oven.

Technology

Students are completing their evaluation stage and will be embarking on a new project in video editing later in the week.

Science

Students are beginning their studies of the cell, its structures and their functions.  We are working on study skills and note taking skills as students prepare for high school level biology.

Humanities

Students are working on their summative assessment of the building blocks of a society.  They will be writing a paper on land acquisition and how it impacted the formation of the US.

Physical Education

Students are continuing their studies of Lacrosse and hoping for a few dry days to be outside. They continue to develop their understanding of their role as members of a team and their own personal development through sports.

Performing Arts

We are embarking on a new unit in Performing Arts.  Students will be looking at the history and culture of Blues music.

Special Thanks

to Mrs. Hofer and Mrs. Howard for our awesome Halloween party and to the numerous parents who sent in treats and ingredients for our bread today.
