Meet Mrs. Gilla

Welcome to another school year! This is the start of my 9th year at Goddard Middle School, and my 19th year as a special education teacher and case manager. My first ten years were in the Oswego Community School District in Oswego, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago.)

I grew up in Illinois and earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Marquette University in Wisconsin. I then received a master's degree in social work, and worked primarily with families and children with special medical needs for ten years. After the birth of my son, I returned to graduate school again and received a master's degree in special education. After a lifetime spent vacationing in Colorado, my family and I moved to the Denver area eight years ago. We are so happy with our decision!

When I am not at school, I spend time supporting my children's activities, while trying to spend as much time in the mountains as possible!

I am looking forward to getting to know your student this year and I am committed to helping them have a successful year!

As the year progresses, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child. I can be reached at 303-734-6179 or bgilla@lps.k12.co.us.
