A brilliancy not known                                                      
Has escaped high heaven,
And plummeted full force--
Piercing the stratosphere.

This prismatic messenger
Extends its beams of love,
To touch a tiny cave
Which holds the source of light
Within its walls.

Diamond-like,
The heraldic beam's shimmering shaft
Points the way
For shepherds and the like:
Whose darkened souls
Shall find a flame of hope--

Ignited by the babe
Who lies within.
