Youth Groups

Helping Students Turn BELIEFS into ACTION

Earn money for your youth group*!  Join the Youth Incentive Program (YIP).

How YIP Works

  1. Students raise money on their youth group or school Life Walk team through pledges, booster events, and Facebook.
  2. 25% of the fulfilled pledges raised by a youth group team or school team will be given back!
  3. Youth groups and schools can use the funds toward activities or materials that affirm the sanctity of life, chastity, or social justice (such as service activities, books, DVDs, retreats, and youth conferences.)

YIP Program Rules
  • Teams participating in the YIP program must be composed entirely of students.
(Adults participate in Life Walk through a church or organization.)
  • Use of the funds must be approved by Life Perspectives.
  • *YIP totals will be determined through fulfilled pledges by December 31, 2009.
  • Requests for YIP funds raised during Life Walk 2009 must be submitted to Life Perspectives
    by March 30, 2010.
  • YIP cannot replace parish Life Walk participation.

It’s easy!

1. Announce the Life Walk at a youth event.

2. Set out the sign-up sheet and remind your students to sign up and pick up a pledge form on their way out the door.

3. Call, text, or email the students who sign up and remind them to collect pledges and make sure they have transportation to the event.

4. Become a fan of Life Perspectives on Facebook:  Invite your teens to become fans of Life Perspectives, RSVP for the Life Walk, and donate through PayPal - all through Facebook!

5. Your students should collect pledges—not money—for this 2-mile, family-friendly walk.

6. All walkers should bring their Sponsor Pledge Forms with them on the day of the Walk.

7. Life Perspectives will send the walkers’ sponsors a bill. (So you don’t have to deal with any money coming in and going out!)

8. Twenty-five percent of whatever your students earn goes right back to your youth group to use for Life-affirming activities!
