We missed a bug in the 1.3 release - we special case GB so that information is shown in metric, even though you measure in MPG. That's wrong on our part! We'll fix that bug in the next update. We'll still read locale information from your phone automatically - (we'll let you override that when we introduce a settings screen (soon)! We'll also introduce functionality to let you switch back and forth between miles and kilometers and liters and gallons (it's really simple math - just a matter of keeping the details straight)
But we're sorry for now - UK customers won't get much use out of the current version. Please stay tuned! |

| We see a couple of comments and have had several support emails on Mileage Tracker where it looks like data is lost during the upgrade - even after reading other support posts on this site.
We can't reproduce the problem, but we think we know why this has happened. We uploaded V1 of Mileage Tracker with two different Distribution Profiles (and keys) where the App Store changed the version several days before the release of version 1.1.
By using different profiles, the App Store would then have treated the upgrade as a different application - and not carried the data over to the new version. That could be why some of you have lost data.
If you have feedback on the upgrade process, can you let us know? Please email support@lemdisyn.com for follow up.
If you did lose your data from V1, we're striving to make sure that doesn't happen again. Apple has since clarified their Distribution Profile Policy, and all future versions will be released with the same profile.
As always however, if you have important data on your phone, please make sure you back it up prior to upgrading any application or iPhone firmware. That can only help to prevent issues with lost data. It's not a very granular process, but until the AppStore application delivery process is completely ironed out, these things can happen.
Thanks! |

| From support email: Why are quantities and prices truncated to the nearest whole unit when entering?
This is a bug! We're addressing and will post in the free 1.2 update. Keep an eye on this page as to when we release it. This works fine with any Region Format that uses a "." as a fraction seperator - but not if you use a ","

| From email support: Why doesn't my first fill up show up in the analysis?
When you start using Mileage Tracker, we base calculations on ending mileage from your last fill up compared to mileage on your latest fill up. When you enter your first fill up information we have no way of knowing your previous starting mileage because there is none! We therefore only use the mileage (and octane) information from that first fill up. So your price and volume information is not used - there's no way we can use it and have accurate calculations.
That's why any money you spend on the first fill up doesn't enter into part of the analysis! Makes sense? Think about, if not, please email support.

| From support email: Your method of tracking doesn't represent how we measure MPG in the UK. Will you address?
Yes! We automatically determine how to display mileage data based on your country and region format. We special case the UK because, even though it's on the metric system, they measure mileage in MPG and pump gas in litres. We'll update the next version of our analysis to show that correctly.
In the meantime, if you're in the UK, enter in data as follows:
Enter in mileage in miles Enter in quantity (although it says gallons) in litres Enter price per litre in English pounds In that way, the data collected will be correct.
On the next upgrade, the analysis will display as expected - using litres with cost, and imperial miles used in mileage calculations.
Keep an eye out for the update!

| From support emails: I'd like Mileage Tracker in my language - what languages do you support?
Currently only English, but our next update (the week of 8/4) will include support for: - Italian - German - Portuguese
Stay tuned! |

| Why is V1.1 crashing for me?
We've gotten 6 emails from people using V1.1 where the application is crashing on them when they try to start it. This doesn't happen in our test environment, nor with our testers and we're investigating. When we find out more information we will post back here when we find out more information.
We think we know the reason: Our app reads locale information out of your phone - This information comes from the Language and Region Format settings on your phone under "Settings > General >International" Verify that your phone has valid entries for these options by going in and re-selecting what you think the values should be. For example, "English" is NOT a valid region format. If you see this, drill down into Region Format and select a valid entry - like "United States". It looks like some phones do not have these values populated correctly, especially non 3G iPhones. We're not sure why that happens, but we'll follow up with Apple. - Just make sure your values come from the detail pages of choices, and the app should work.
5 of 6 emails were from people using 2.0 hardware. We're testing on that platform, and the functionality works as planned. We can't reproduce this issue.
Has your upgrade worked smoothly? Please let us know at support@lemdisyn.com. If you send us mail, can you help us better understand the issue by answering these questions:
What hardware are you using (iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch) What country are you in? What "region format" are you set to? (Under Settings, General, International) Did the upgrade install work for you? (Our purchased app upgrade process crashed - did the same happen to you?) Do you have V1.0 data on your phone?
Thanks in advance from the support team. If we find an issue, we'll release a fix right away as we're focused on improving Mileage Tracker, and adding several other applications.

| From support emails: I updated to V1.1, and it looks like all my data is gone. Is that the case?
No! When we upgraded to allow for multiple vehicles, we move all your existing data under a vehicle named "Car 1" - Do you see it on your phone/iPod? Drill down into Car 1, and you'll see the fill up information from V1. You can navigate back out, and change the name of your car to whatever you'd like.
Did you delete Car 1 by accident? No Worries! WIth the upgrade, you're V1 mileage file is still in tact! If you deleted Car 1 by accident, just delete all the car data in the new version (V1.1), close the app, and when it opens again, it will look for a new data file - not see it, and then load your old one in again!
If you're new to V1.1, you should see the Vehicle screen . Add a vehicle, then drill down into the vehicle to add new fill up data.

I see there's an upgrade to version 1.1 on this web site, but the Apple App Store still says 1.0. Where is 1.1?
7/28: It looks like there's a natural delay to get an app through Apple's review process is about a week. We uploaded version 1.1 up to the Apple Store last Friday (the 18th!) and it wasn't posted to the app store. Today we received an email noting there was an issue with our Distribution Provisioning Profile (used by Apple in signing apps that are posted to the store) and that we need to change it to upgrade the existing version 1.0. We're working to get this resolved, and hope to have that done asap!
Update 7/29: The update is re-posted again to Apple. Hopefully they'll get it out asap. |

I'm not sure how I should be adding information into the fill up screen - can you explain to make sure I'm adding it correctly?
In the fill up screen you enter:
Fill Date: The date you filled up the car - this is important because mileage tracker sorts the data based first on the fill date second on the odometer (to help make sure it tracks multiple fill ups in a day). Mileage Tracker defaults this value to today's date!
Mileage: This is the odometer reading on your car - not a trip odometer - the actually running odometer in the car. Mileage Tracker will use the latest mileage when you enter your next fill up to help ensure you don't have to turn those dials that much!
Octane: This is optional in all versions, but if you track your octane usage, V1.1 and higher of Mileage Tracker will accumulate your mileage by octane and help you see if it's beneficial to pay that extra cost! Version 1.1 and higher just separate octane information to low/medium/high grades - as most pumps only have two or three choices, yet the types vary by country.
Quantity: This is the total quantity of gas you pumped at the station, as per the pump reading. This is the total quantity.
Price: This might be misleading - this is the price per gallon (or price per unit) of the gas you've bought. Mileage tracker will extend the price x quantity when totaling up the money you spend on gas. If you enter total price here, you'll be overstating your gas costs! We could have been more clear on this in the app, but hopefully, this makes sense!
Happy Driving!
