Youth Celebrate Two Temples
Nearly 14,000 youth participated in "Come Up to the Mountain of the Lord," the temple youth celebrations honoring both the Draper Utah and the Oquirrh Mountain Utah temples. We thank the youth and their leaders for the countless hours of preparation. As our prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, promised the youth, "Tonight will be a night you will never forget."

PRESIDENCY MESSAGE
Don’t Pack the Learning Away with the Tent
Miracles happen at camp, youth conferences, and other summer events. Hopefully skills, testimonies, and friendships have all grown. Don’t let it stop there! Refer back to experiences and feelings in lessons. Have young women share what they learned with their family, ward members, and others. Plan activities that review and build upon the skills they learned. Find ways to nurture and strengthen the relationships that started at camp—help them support one another in the halls at school the way they did at camp.

FEATURES
Elder Bednar Speaks on Technology
As a presidency, we recommend that all Young Women leaders either watch or read the recent CES fireside address by Elder David A. Bednar. As leaders, we can assist youth in learning to use technology with wisdom and balance. “Be careful of becoming so immersed and engrossed in pixels, texting, ear buds, twittering, online social networking and potentially addictive uses of media and the Internet that you... miss the richness of person-to-person communication.” |
|
Ministering through Activities
At the recent training offered in conjunction with general conference, the Young Women general presidency shared instruction on how leaders can minister to the needs of young women through activities. The Church News also summarized the training. |
|
Orienting New Leaders
A training and orientation handout was shared in the recent Young Women training. It shares the vision and goals of the Young Women general presidency. It can by used to orient new Young Women leaders to their callings and as a guide for auxiliary and priesthood leaders for ongoing leadership training. Also available in Español andPortuguês. |
