I spent my early professional life in education, teaching children, adolescents and adults foreign languages. My work also included supporting students with Special Needs. Having my first degree in Psychology, I primarily enjoyed the impact different personalities can have on relational dynamics. One of my special interests is on Sibling Relationship and how this can influence the way we view ourselves both in childhood and in later life.
My professional training as a Counsellor is in the Psychodynamic approach as well as in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. |
I have worked as a counsellor for undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Sussex and besides being a partner of Lewes Counselling Practice, I also work with a counselling service in Brighton. I have experience working with different issues, amongst others depression, anxiety, bereavement, stress disorder, panic attacks, low self-esteem and relationship problems.
I believe that most of our issues have their origin in earlier life. Our early environment provides the foundation for later personality strengths and weaknesses. Psychodynamic counselling can help make sense of our current feelings and thoughts in relation to memories of the past. This can enable us to gain a deeper understanding of how we relate to ourselves and to others. Having grown-up in different countries has made me aware and tolerant of people's differences and open to new ideas and challenges. |

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy I adhere to its ethical framework. |
