Posts here are fixes or answers to problems that have come up with one of the LCF sites. There might be answers elsewhere on the site (try "Search Site" above). If you have a problem, write Tim, Russell, Cody, or Jenny and we'll try to fix it and collect responses here.

- Navigate to Documents. You will see a listing of all your files.
- Create the file to share if you haven't already, then close out to get back to your file listing page.
- Click the check-boxes next to each file you would like to share.
- Click the share button.
- Click "choose from contacts," which will bring up your mail address book (individuals and groups).
- Choose the list of people you want to share with (or choose a group, by clicking the down arrow, if they are already organized together into a group).
- Once you have your new list of people, you can save them as a new group with the "save as group" button. You might need several similar groups (e.g. "LGT plus Sarah and Tim").
- Click done. Whether or not you send invitations, the files will show up in each person's file listing.
- So, by clicking many file check-boxes and then sharing with a preselected groups, you can share many files with many people quickly.
You can also share from within a document using the share tabs in roughly the same way (steps 5-8), except the procedure above will allow you to share any number of documents at once. |

Log in and go to google calendars. Your name appears in a box entitled "my calendars" on the left. Click on the arrow to the right of your name, then on "share this calendar." You can click a box to share with everyone within the LCF domain (and set the level of sharing). Below, you can also specify individuals with whom to share. You can share with anyone with a google calendar account (including those outside the LCF domain), and possible others (I haven't tried that).

Log in and go to google calendars. On the left side, you will see a box for “my calendars” and another below it for “other calendars”. Directly under “other calendars” is a box that says “add a friend’s calendar”. Start typing in a name (such as “Jennifer”) and a list should pop up which includes that name. Click on the name and that person's calendar should be added to your “my calendars” section. Also note: - You can hide or show a calendar by clicking on it in the "my calendar" list.
- All of the LCF-LU accounts should theoretically show up, but not everyone will have filled in his calendar (he may also have disabled calendar sharing)

Email any LCF site administrator (blackc, jennifer, or webstert@lcf-lu.org). He or she will reset your password to a temporary password. The next time you log in with the temporary password, you will be prompted to supply a new one of your own choosing.

Login, then go to Mail. Near the upper right corner you will see "Settings." Click Settings link, Accounts tab, then the Change Password link. Here is the direct link, which may work: https://www.google.com/a/lcf-lu.org/ChangePassword?service=mail&hl=en

| Yeah. It's kind of sporadic. Try editing from Internet Explorer rather than Firefox. That sometimes helps. |

There are a few bugs in Google Apps. One is that Custom Sections (like the LCF links) can't be edited (instead, we have to make a new one every time we need to make fixes or changes). Some of you who got your LCF accounts early may have gotten a bad LCF Custom Section. To fix the problem:
- delete the LCF custom section from your start page (click X)
- click "Add stuff >>", then custom sections
- there might be several custom sections displayed -- add the most recent one (as of 6/6/08 is was the one called "LCF")
- the new section will now display on your start page. You can drag it to the position the old one had if you like.
