| Hi All, The squash year is rapidly progressing - I hope that everyone is well and truly back into the swing of things. Novice Night ------------------ With help from Steve Hodges (Development Manager, Auckland Squash), we have decided to host a 'Novice Night' on Friday the 11th of July from 6pm-9pm. This night is designed to get non-members down to the club, and playing squash. It is open to all abilities, including those that havent picked up a racquet before. We will be offering hot food, and will have children's movies playing on the big screen, so feel free to bring the kids down. We should have some racquets available, but please make sure that people bring non-marking shoes. We would appreciate any help from club members who can come down and help with coaching or explaining how the club works (or have some old racquets they can donate...). (Note that this will be a great night for existing club members to bring their whole family down and see how their partner fares on the other end of a racquet!) Super Champs --------------------- Kumeu has one C grade team entered in the super champs, which will be played down at Henderson from Tuesday (tonight) until Saturday (maybe Sunday if we are on-form). All team members (Ian, Glen, Don, Lou, Mike, Bruce) have signed a contract in blood stating that if they get skunked 9-0 they will shout a round for all Kumeu supporters, so if possible, please get down to Henderson and MAKE SOME NOISE! We will be playing all of our games at Henderson - Tues-Friday at 7pm (Red Beach Wed, Henderson Fri), and Saturday at 2pm. If we win our pool then the final is on Sunday. Auckland Masters Age-Group ------------------------------ ------------ The cutoff date for this has been extended - for more details please see the poster: http://www.squashauckland.org.nz/Data/Media/Images/PAccount_-1/AK%20Masters%20Poster%202008.pdf Tournaments ------------------ Our tournament went off very successfully - just one more to go. Our final tournament is from Wed-Sat, 17th-20th of September. This is a couple of months away, but keep the date free because it should be an awesome event. Look out for the Royal Oak Open and Titirangi Masters in August. Club Night --------------- Dont forget club nights, Thursday from 6pm-8pm. We are starting to see some ad-hoc coaching as well as mini-games, so come on down and learn something. Thats all from me, Glen. |
