2007 #2

Hi All,

Again, if you dont want to get these emails, just let me know and I
will remove you from the list.  On with the squash...

Tournament
=========
Our first tournament finished on Saturday and was a great success -
thanks to everyone who helped out with organizing, food, drink &
general tidying up.  I would like to take a moment to stop a few
rumors that I have heard about Saturday night.  Let me be clear that
there was *absolutely* no:
1) Excessive drinking - the bottle of Jagermeister was mostly empty
when the tournament started.
2) Table surfing - the tables just happened to be arranged in one long line.
3) Lewd dancing.  Well, OK, but that was just the Red Beach club, and
*nobody* can control them.

Our next tournament will be at the end of June (27th-30th), so make
sure you keep those dates free.

Also, a few tournaments coming up over the next month or so:
1) Herne Bay, 4-6th May
2) Red Beach, 11-13th May
3) Henderson juniors, 18-20th May
4) Royal Oak, 15-17th May
Let me know if you want any more details, but hopefully we can send a
good contingent to each of them.

Juniors
=====
Rich Limmer is organising Juniors to start this Sunday (29th) at 9am.
We are also looking for people/parents who can help out on Wednesday
nights as well.  Come on down to the muster this Sunday, or call Rich
on xxxxxxx.

Winter Interclub
===========
Squash Auckland has just released the Winter Interclub teams and
draws, the first game is this week (i.e. 30th April/ 1st May).  We
have six mens teams and one womens teams this year, so it should be a
great season.  I will be emailing team captains with draw details this
afternoon.

Business House
============
Mike Barnes has done a great job of organizing Business House - the
first game is this Friday, starting at 6pm.  Make sure you come down
to support your favorite team, or just to have a drink.  Note that the
Kumeu/Huapai Volunteer Fire Brigade is entering the league for the
first time, and I am reliably informed that we are going to absolutely
'smoke' the competition (and/or set fire to any business that beats
us).

Club Night
========
There was no club night last week (due to the tournament), but things
are back up and running this week, so come on down for a hit from 6pm
onwards (non-members welcome).

As always, give me a call if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Glen Harris
