History of KrezerJ In febuary of 2001, I (benthemeek)
brought up a 8 player counterstrike server on an old slackware linux
box I had running off of my cable connection. To my surprise it was
pretty popular right off the bat. With a few short days we had many of
the first admins who remained for several years playing. Before long
the amount of traffic got my ISP 's attention and I was sent a cease
and desist letter. The popularity had proven itself though, and having
little ability with web pages I enlisted the help of my best friend
(KrezerJ., Alex) in his assistance on setting up a website where stats
could be run etc. He also built the new server from some hardware he
had and found a host in his hometown of Frederick, Maryland. (I lived
in Nashville Tennessee at the time.) We always felt the Krezerj server
was a pretty exceptional server and community. I am a Christian and
wanted to have a place where all ages could play and have fun without
dealing with obscenities and the massive amount of immaturity that was
in the public counterstrike servers at the time. There were many people
who came to appreciate the server who felt the same way that did not
share my faith but did share those values. I could not even begin to
name all of the players that begin to play who were regulars; but we
had a steady enough stream that reserved slots were implemented so the
regulars could get in. The community just kind of took on a life of
it's own at that point, but I believe it was successful because the of
the great character of the admins and players. Admins had to be chosen
by other admins and a majority vote. We also played a lot of smaller
custom maps as we weren't that large of a server to begin; 14 slots
with 2 reserved. We weathered the move to Steam and even ran some
rather unique adminmod scripts (democracy plugin) that Alex wrote
himself. He also hacked together how to make physcostats run in
php-nuke bringing more popularity to us. The server under-went two or
three hosting changes in the years to come but it pretty much stayed
the same until the release of half life2 and a host of other games that
most people moved on to, or simply became to busy to play much anymore.
Most of us remember those times rather fondly for the laughs and the
friendships and it brought me create this website. In july of 2007,
with both Alex and I very busy at our jobs and going for months at a
time between playing, we decided it best to shut down due to time
constraints and the continuing expense. A gracious friend and admin
Sgt. Hartman, stepped into fill the gap by hosting his own server
cs-ant.com where some older krezerj players still occasionally play.
In mid-july of 2008 during an outage of the cs-ant.com website I created our usergroup to stay in touch with everyone. I decided to see if there was interest in a Krezerj Source server; and to my delight there was.. Currently we have the server set up and we are moving back into a popular community once again.
Future
I have created a cs:source server and have every intention of getting the community going again. Eventually will will implement pay per reserved slots in an attempt to off set the cost of running the cs server. For now we are still feeling our way into getting the source server the way we want it. Hope to see you in the game ;)

Here
is a list of admins that is not complete but I thought would be nice to

About the WebsiteWe are using google apps to host this website.. I do not know if it will be our permanent home, because the terms of service are confusing. When we start taking donations for the server I hope we will not be violating those said terms. I don't think we will be because the donations will be for the game server and not paying for the service google provides.
