About: Abiquo is a company that was set up in Barcelona (with division in Madrid and frequently presence in San Francisco) in 2006. It has a global vocation, developing an open-source cloud-computing platform. With our technology, clients can create and manage their complex architectures of information systems from one unique platform (such as physical and virtual servers, networks, applications, storage, and so on).

In abiquo, we believe that modern-day data processing centres do not meet the current requirements of many customers given that in most cases, their resources are under-used, they are not always available and furthermore, they are not energetically efficient. Our Cloud Computing platform that is released as an open-source license allows everyone, regardless of the size of their organization, to enjoy the benefits this revolution has to offer.

Our vision is one of a world in which private and public “Clouds” may interoperate, opening up a new range of possibilities within IT structures.

The founders of abiquo, with considerable experience in Grid Computing, came up with the idea of developing a solution based on the integration of several technologies, abstracting the complexity of such a project from end users.

In 2009, abiquo was acknowledged as one of the 100 best technology start-ups in Europe and the Middle East by Red Herring.
