Corrections to Iraq Essays: First point I wish to make is that some of you don't even know what your names are, therefore you have no 'marks' for your essays.
Second Point is that you have forgotten about using 'compound-complex' and other types of sentences. Here are 3 sentences that ought to have been only one sentence. Iraq located in South West of Asia with the land of 440,000 square kilometers. Iraq, whose capital is Baghdad, is located in South West Asia and it has a population of about 20 million people and a land area of about 440,000 square kilometres. Iraq, with a population of about 20 million people and a land area of approximately 440,000 square kilometres, is located in South West Asia and has as it's capital, the city of Baghdad.
Third Point is that you are failing to check your facts!~ Bangladash is not the Capital of Iraq! It is a country! Iraq is not 'an island' in the Middle East! Basra and Mosul are cities not Universities! The former president of Iraq IS NOT Saddam or Saddam Hussein. HE WAS! Average Temperatures do not go as high as 48 degrees and as low as Zero degrees.
Average = the temperature in the middle of the extreme parametres.
Fourth Point is about grammar. This sentence is incorrect: 'Iraq has a national emblem which is hawk'. Iraq's national emblem is the Hawk.
It's national flower is the Rose. Their favourite animal is the Eagle. (Except that it should be 'favourite bird') Fifth point is about 'strange sayings'. The war between Iran and Iraq did not 'burn out' in 1980. It 'broke out'.
Arabic is not the 'office' language of Iraq! 'Arabic is the official language!' Question: 'Did your resource materials say that Iraq has "national hazards" nor 'Natural Hazards?" It's National hazards are floods, dust storms and sandstorms??
Kindly note that 'foods' are not National Hazards (unless they are unhealthy).
Iraq suffers from 'foods', dust storms and sandstorms.....???
Sixth Point is about redundancies. We discussed this in class on Friday April 10th.
'The Chinese man looks Asian, has yellow skin, black hair and brown eyes' - is pretty much redundant as a description. "Iraq has a predominantly desert climate which makes most of the country very dry" may sound great but it means that Iraq has a predominantly desert climate which is predominantly a desert climate! Iraq is an Islamic country in which most of the people are Islamic is also somewhat pointless.
And just for those who don't know, 'Muslims / Moslems' are not 'Islamites'. Maybe you are thinking of Israelites? Final Point is about Paragraph ORDER. Example: Iraq's former president is Saddam Hussein. There are 5 major political parties in Iraq. Iraq complete its independence in Oct 3rd 1932 from British Administration. It got initial independence in 1921. Us Military (U.S. Military perhaps?) invades Iraq in March 20th 2003 and then Iraq form a transitional government in 2005. The Iraq/Iran war broke down in 1980 and end in 1988. Iraq's presidential term of office is 4 years. Iraq's former president was Saddam Hussein who was overthrown after the U.S. Military invaded Iraq in March of 2003. A transitional government was installed in 2005. Iraq now limits it's presidential term of office to 4 years; it has 5 major political parties, and the current president is ____ of the ___ party, who came to power in ____.
'Salaam Aleikum'
This is the short form of the greeting and you will hear it in China as well.
The short reply is 'Aleikum Salaam'
'Salaam Aleikum' is the greeting of Peace - pretty much the same as 'Nihao'.
The 'HUG' is called a hug - it is not called the 'Salaam Aleikum'.
Insipid Food
The Iraqi's like Insipid and Sweet Food - What does this mean?
That which is 'insipid' to one person may not be considered 'insipid' by another person.
The Fuse that Lit
What does this term mean?
The fuse that lit the 2003 Iraq war was because the United States........
A fuse is a thing - not a reason....
The thing that caused the war to break out - was something... but what was it.
The United States invaded Iraq because ...... this and that reason.....
The fuse that lit the war was Iraq's possession of or production of weapons of mass destruction.....
I'm not sure that one can actually use this expression this way.
A FUSE is the thing which sets off the explosion of dynamite - or a bomb. The electrical fuse is the thing which makes the electricity flow so that the light or power works.

Correcting some Original Work
Thanks to the abundant oil in Iraq, exporting oil is one of the most important economical resources..
This expression does not mean what Shi Dajiang meant it to say. (Ask your grammar teacher! (Wo jiushi bendan laowai! Wo budong yufa)
Iraq's abundant oil reserves are it's most important resources in developing and maintaining it's economy.
Iraq's abundant oil reserves are it's economy's most important resource.
In fact, Iraq is the world's second largest country after Saudi Oil Storage. SHENME?????
Oil Storage is not a country, so Iraq is not the second largest country after oil storage. It is not the second largest country after Saudi Arabia (I think!)
In Fact, Iraq's oil reserves are second only to (Saudi Arabia's oil reserves) that of Saudi Arabia.
Apart from economy, agriculture also contributes a lot to the development of Iraq. Shenme yisi?
Meaning??? In addition to the economy contributing to the development of Iraq, agriculture also contributes..... ????
Perhaps???? In addition to the economic benefit of it's oil industry, the agricultural industry is an important contributer to the development of Iraq. (Not sure about the grammar of that sentence)
The economic benefit of it's oil industry aside, the agricultural industry contributes a lot to the development of Iraq.
The economic benefit of it's oil industry aside, the agricultural industry plays an important role in contributing to the development of Iraq.
Products like wheat, rice, cotton, temperate fruits (not - temerate) and so one are indispensable part of agriculture in Iraq. Among products mentioned above, cotton and wheat are the two major products.
Products like wheat, rice, cotton and temperate fruits are indispensible to Iraq's agricultural industry, and of these, Cotton and Wheat are the Major products.
....,the current president, is trying his best to stabilize the economical and political situation of the whole country.
...the current president is trying his best to stabilize the economy and the political situation.
...the current president is trying his best to stabilize both the economy and the country's political situation.
To know about a country, we need filling with its local cultural customs without any doubt. Ugh?
To understand a country, we need to clearly (properly /correctly/ adequately) understand it's culture and local customs.
People's favourite animal is eagle. - the Eagle - but an Eagle is a bird not 'an animal'.
In local people's spare time, we can see many people play football and other sports! NO! IN OUR SPARE TIME WE CAN SEE IT!
My Thanks to Zhou Lu who wrote an interesting article about his country - Iraq.
People here have their own unique preferences! and people here mainly eat dates!
They (the people of Iraq who just happen to be Muslims) worship eagles ...... Oh my god Man! There is only one God and only He can you worship! If a Muslim starts to worship birds and other things, he will be stoned to death! They don't worship eagles!
We use the expression 'worship' as a synonym for 'idolize' - but that word really means to worship something that is not really living or a god. Whilst in English you can use these expressions, you have to be 'culturally aware' of the impact of the expression 'worship (this or that)'
(Iraq is an Islamic country in which 95 % of the population are Muslims. )
These two rivers (Tigris and Euphrates) had generated a marvellous fluvial plains -
I question the use of the word FLUVIAL here..................... I understand your meaning, but am not sure that it can be used here. I guess a scientist could tell us. I think it would be safer to say 'alluvial plains'.
Fluvial relates to the actual river environs (as best I understand it's usage) - while Alluvial relates to the result of the river flood and erosion.
(Since the public can read this site maybe someone will write in and tell us - rpbendedek@hotmail.com )
I enjoyed your assignment - despite sentences that were too long and the confusion that resulted therein.

Besides this, Iraq is rich in agricultural products, the cultivated land is 27.6% of total land area, which produces wheat, rice, cotton, and temperate fruits. The agricultural population is 33 % of the total population.
The Iraqi National song is 'My Hometown', and the national flag is 'God of Arms'. The motto of the country is 'God is the greatest'. People in Iraq (usually take Hawk as) consider the Hawk to be their national emblem, the Revolution Day July 17th as their national holiday, and (Rose) the Rose as their national flower.
The federal government (of Iraq) is defined under the current Constitution as an Islamic democratic federal parliamentary republic. Iraq was under the Baath Party's rule from 1968 to 2003. In 1979, Saddam Hussein took control and remained president until 2003 after which he was unseated by a U.S. led invasion.
After the invasion, several attempts were tried by Interal Community After the invasion, efforts were made by the international community to improve and repair the infrastructure of Iraq. Governed at first by the Coalition Provisional Authority and after June 28 2004 by a series of Iraq led governments, they made efforts on some major areas like water supply system, sewage treatment plants, electronicity production, hospitals and health climics, aiming to encompass the promotion of economic development and government institutions. But problems also came along with the progress, like inadequate security, pervasive corruption, insufficient funding and so on.
