Get your @kem.edu ID

For PG Students, Faculty and staff
 
The features of the kem.edu  IDs will be as follows:
  • yourname@kem.edu plus any number of aliases*

  • Provided by Google and customised for our institutioni.

  • Disk space 7 GB+ (7000 MB); Attachment size 20MB
  • Spam control by Google;  No ads, No pop-ups.
  • Reliability ensured by Google
  • Can be used through Outlook Express, Thundebird or other e mail clients

  • Calendar,website,  docs, websites, start page, talk and chat possible

  • You can get any username you wish as an alias (for eg: if my real e mail ID is rmukundapte@kem.edu; you can have an alias  ma@kem.edu or mukund@kem.edu to receive mails at  the same account. This is not possible with other mail providers (Hotmail; Rediffmail or even gmail), This is subject to others not having chosen these aliases). Your initial password (which you should change immediately) will be your username
  • You can import all contacts and mails from your old e mail ID into the new kem.edu e mail ID
  • You can access your other e mail IDs from the kem.edu e mail ID web interface
  • You have the warm feeling of having your institutions name on your email ID
  • In future, you will need this ID to access intranet resources

  • *What is an alias?: In spite of the fact that your e mail id will as per the format given above, we can create one or more alias for you.        
    For example rmukundapte@kem.edu  can have an alias of ma@kem.edu or anything else you wish (even more than one!).
    The advantage is that people sending mails to you can send on your alias name (which is often shorter - typically just your initials or a name you are popularly known by)       
    However, remember, that you can logon to your account only by your
    full username. Alias names are subject to availability - lest your friends
    have beaten you to it!

All bonafide past students and faculty of GSMC and KEMH are eligible.
