Asking for your help!
These are tough economic times, and yes, this is a letter asking for a donation. However, before you stop reading, let me ask you, do you believe that our local youth are valuable? If so, we have an opportunity for you to support our local youth and improve your community as well! What is it about? After an amazing kick-off in the Spring of 2008, preparations are underway for Kittitas County Youth Leadership Academy 2009 (KC.YLA.09)! KC.YLA.09 is a county-wide community effort designed to engage youth, increase their leadership skills, and improve the partnerships between youth and their community, and we need your help. In all, 35 local freshmen and sophomores will attend this event and every school district in the county will participate. KC.YLA.09 will be held October 2nd- 4th, 2009. Schools are encouraged to select youth who show leadership abilities in their peer group. At YLA youth will learn leadership skills with an emphasis on applying those leadership skills in their community through community service. Support Youth in Your Community KC.YLA.09 is of no cost to participants. It is partially funded by Kittitas County Community Network through a Drug-Free Communities grant, and is organized and co-sponsored by a Coalition comprised of youth and community organizations. While this partnership makes many resources available in our community, we also need support from the community to make this academy a reality. You can help in the following ways:
