LIVING VALUES WHILE FORMING THE FUTURE

The Nuns of Mallersdorf began their work in Landstuhl in 1861.  The founder, Dr. Paul Joseph Nardini personally brought the first three nuns to Landstuhl on the 17th of February 1861.  Their mission was the ambulatory care of the poor, old and sick.  In the year 1878 Dr. Nardini and the nuns established a small hospital with a few beds then moved to the "Old Hospital" on Landstuhl's main street.  The construction of the ìNew Hospitalî began in 1969, and on the 15th of November 1975 the St. Johannis Hospital moved into its new building at Landstuhl-Atzel with the help of different aid groups--particularly the U.S. Army.

On the 1st of January 2001 the St. Johannis Hospital became a non-profit organization based in Landstuhl.  The exclusive partner is the "Nardini Foundation" who is regulated by public law with Mallersdorf, Niederbayern as its base.  The foundation is named after the founder of the congregation Dr. Nardini and his name means mission and commitment to us.  We stand for values based on the Christian faith.  St. Johannis Hospital is a patient-oriented hospital, with medical, nursing, and economical professionalism; and expresses itself by providing for patients by straight personal devotion in a modern hospital.
