He has participated in over a dozen digital learning projects and studies. Notable examples include: The BAFTA award winning ‘Turning the Pages’ project; eLearning strategy development at the British Library; TQEF funded Learning Objects for Information Literacy project; HEFCE funded consultant on digitisation processes and workflow; and most recently a JISC funded project on Digital Repository services and development on behalf of the Bloomsbury Colleges Consortium. She has developed and delivered training events for technical and academic staff of all levels and supported the use of e-learning and learning technologies to support learning, teachning and research. She also provided individual support through structured institional visits and kept the London HE community up-to-date with e-learning developments through monthly bulletins, mailing lists and forums. He entered the further education sector as a music industry trainer and headed the local audio department of the international new media college SAE Institute in Frankfurt. As a freelance consultant, his interests focused on audiovisual media use in vocational education and corporate training settings. Since 2005, Tim consults IoE lecturers on the use and pedagogic application of web-based technologies. He has been involved in the design of new courses and systems for online and independent learning and has played a major role in the establishment and development of e-learning centres at the University of Bristol (the Educational Technology Service and the Learning Technology Support Service) and at the University of Cambridge (the Clinical and Biomedical Computing Unit and the Centre for Applied Research in Educational Technology).
