Questions about the Google Service

1.    What is your normal response times and procedures for phishing attack. If a phishing attack occurs, can Google delete message being delivered domain wide to our customers?

Google has an extremely efficient help desk for Google Apps Enterprise. All tickets are routed to the proper team and tracked. If your company has any issues to report, we will ensure it is ticketed and followed up on.  Google maintains a complex and proprietary system to manage all denial of service attacks, phishing attaches, and spam attacks. Their advanced algorithms proactively perform services so these attacks never reach your customers. Spam senders will be blocked so future spam or phishing attacks will not reach the end user. This is Google’s efficiency of scale and the effects on how a large footprint can help all the customers residing on the Gmail system. Normal response if 24 hours and direct contact to Google Engineers can be made to escalate any issues or problems.

2.    Can the API provide information on the last time logged in to find out the amount of inactive accounts to remove from the system?

Yes. With Single Sign Capabilities SSO, you have access. Your team will also have NOC like controls with the SSO. IKANO will assist you with this setup so integration with your billing provisioning system is in place.

Security and Privacy

Two of the most common topics of questions regarding Google in general, and Google Apps specifically, are security and privacy. We take both topics very seriously and truly believe that our offerings are a great option for customers on both fronts. Our business is built on our users' trust: trust in our ability to properly secure their data and our commitment respect the privacy of the information they place in our systems by not giving that information to others or using it inappropriately.

In order to help answer some of the many questions we receive and to dispel some common misconceptions we encounter; we have created this FAQ and the corresponding Google Apps security whitepaper. We hope this helps to answer some of your questions about Google's position on these important issues!

In a nutshell

  • Docs: Each doc can have a maximum size of 500K, plus up to 2MB per embedded image.
  • Spreadsheets: Each can be up to 256 columns, 200,000 cells, or 100 sheets--whichever is reached first. There's no limit on rows.
  • Presentations: Files in .ppt and .pps formats can have a maximum size of 10MB; files uploaded from the Web can be up to 2MB; emailed files can be up to 500K.
  • PDFs: You can store up to 10MB per PDF from your computer and 2MB from the web in your Docs list, up to 100 PDFs.

Documents

  • Each document can be up to 500K, plus up to 2MB per embedded image.
  • You can upload documents from any of the following file formats:
    • HTML
    • Plain text (.txt)
    • Microsoft Word
    • .rtf
    • Open Office (.odt)
  • You have a combined limit of 5000 documents and presentations and 5000 images.
  • *Please note that when importing files into Google Documents, the content will be converted into HTML. After conversion, the content can sometimes be larger (in some cases significantly larger), and the 500k limit applies to this post-conversion size. As a result, certain documents that are under 500k in their original format may still still be too large to upload.

Spreadsheets

  • Each spreadsheet can be up to 256 columns, or up to 200,000 cells, or up to 100 sheets -- whichever limit is reached first. There's no limit on number of rows.
  • Each spreadsheet can have up to 20,000 cells with formulas. Of this total, the following limits apply:
    • Up to 1,000 GoogleFinance formulas
    • Up to 1,000 GoogleLookup formulas
    • Up to 50 Import formulas
  • You have a limit of 1000 spreadsheets. The spreadsheets that are shared with you do not count against 1000 limit.
  • The limit on spreadsheets open at one time is 11.
  • You can import spreadsheets up to approximately 1 Mb in xls, csv, or ods, txt, tsv, tsb format.

Presentations

  • Presentations in both .ppt and .pps file formats from your local computer can be up to 10MB in size.
  • By entering the URL of a file on the Web, you can upload presentations up to 2MB.
  • By emailing in your files, you can upload presentations up to 500K.
  • You have a combined limit of 5000 documents and presentations and 5000 images.
6. Sending Limits
In an effort to fight spam and prevent abuse, Google will temporarily disable your account if you send a message to more than 500 recipients or if you send a large number of undeliverable messages. If you use a POP or IMAP client (Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail, e.g.), you may only send a message to 100 people at a time. Your account should be re-enabled within 24 hours.
