Research Scientist in Computer Science

The University of Memphis invites applications for a two-year Research Scientist position in medical informatics in the Institute for Intelligent Systems. The NIH funded project focuses on computational analyses of language in medical documents. A Masters or Ph.D. degree in computer science or a related field is required. The candidate should be very proficient in programming languages such as Perl, Java and/or php, and be a proactive and critical researcher. Some working knowledge of database systems such as mysql is an advantage. Candidates with an interest in linguistics, computational linguistics, and/or medical informatics are particularly encouraged to apply.
