Biography

Rupaj Kumar Nayak is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the School of Basic Sciences at IIIT, Bhubaneswar. He is an expert in the optimization area. His recent research and teaching focus is in Optimization methods. More specifically, his research has focused on optimization on the non-convex plane and optimization applied to data mining.
The problems he studies may involve a single decision-maker. The decisions may be expressed as either real or integer variables, and the requirements may be expressed as deterministic or random constraints. Using the methodologies, he uses optimization methods in areas like network flow, breast cancer detection, and some real-life problems.
Dr. Nayak earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from Utkal University in 2008. He is a reviewer in many national and international journals.
