Where can you help PTA?


   The descriptions here will help you decide which areas you might be interested in. A form was sent home with your student(s) asking where you might be able to help. Please send it back to the school with your child as soon as possible to help us plan for the year ahead or e-mail us about where you'd like to help.

   We hope you find something here that interests you, but if not, feel free to contact us for other ways to get involved.

Book Fairs - Help set up displays, sales, help take down displays, pack up leftover items.

Teacher's Luncheons - Provide food or drinks during conferences, set up luncheon, clean up after the luncheon.

Christmas Treat Bags - Fill treat bags, help with ornament painting, hand out treat bags.

Teacher Appreciation - Provide food or drinks, help decorate.

Spring Carnival - Many positions are available including chairpersons for rides, games, food, raffles, and entertainment, plus donations of cakes and pop. More information will go home as we get closer to the carnival date, but please let us know now if you'd like to help.

John C. Fremont Days Parade / Game Booth (July 2009) - Work a 1 hour shift at the Howard School - JCF Days game table, representing Howard School.

Yearbook - Submit photos taken throughout the year at various Howard events for use in the yearbook,help create the yearbook pages, fill/deliver orders to classrooms.

Fundraisers - Count deposits, sort orders, distribute orders to students at the school.

McGruff House Representative - This position represents Howard School with the Fremont Police Dept./McGruff House Program. It is a year-round position, though the total commitment is approx. 10 hrs. per year. Contact current McGruff House participants to renew their paperwork, send any new McGruff House applications to the police dept., and answer general questions for people interested in being a McGruff House.

Hawks Merchandise Sales - Process orders for Howard Hawks T-shirts and merchandise. Fill orders, order merchandise not in stock, and answer general questions. Approx. time commitment is 3 hours at the beginning of the school year and 1/2 hour per week throughout the school year.
