BIO

Edna Hodgens is a painter and teacher who is driven by an incredible passion for self-expression through art.  Her works are most often noted for their vibrant colors bold, flowing lines and movement.

Edna has studied art at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and the Birmingham Museum of Art.  She has also studied with critically acclaimed artists, Xander Booker, Janet Tillery, John Wagnon, and Linda Vance.  She has studied with Linda Vance at Lindarts Studio in Hoover, AL for the past six years. She credits Linda with teaching her so much about the use of color.

Edna is presentloy an Art Instructor for the Shelby County Arts Council and teaches Community Outreach Classes funded by the Greater Birmingham Outreach Foundation.

She has received many awards and recognition for her work and is found in corporate and private collections throughout the South.
