Safety What can I do to report speeding problems in my area? The City of Austin has a Traffic Calming program; however, as of June 2009, it has no funding. Calling in and requesting a traffic study and making people aware of the problem is more or less the only legal course of action you can do; however, there isn't a limit on the number of times you can call in, so get your neighbors to join in and call as well. More unique names is better than 1 name calling multiple times. The URL for more information on this program has been provided. City of Austin - Traffic Calming Program
Safety What can I do to get the city to step in to enforce the cleanup of derelict properties and/or excessive trash on my street? According to the City of Austin Code Enforcement: Austin residents may not accumulate garbage, rubbish, brush, filth, carrion or any other unsightly, objectionable or unwholesome matter on their property. In addition, you may not store any material on a vacant lot. To report the issue, call 3-1-1, or use the link to the right to file a report online. City of Austin - Code Enforcement Online Form
