I've always been a student of art, even as a young child. I'd often be studying the minute details of my surroundings, rather than looking at the whole.  As a teen, I had the good fortune of meeting my mentor: Eclipse Award-winning thoroughbred photographer Barbara Livingston.  For several summers I shadowed her as she taught me the fundamentals, and even advised me on my first 35 mm camera purchase. A scholarship to Skidmore College's Summer Session for photography cemented my decision to major in the arts in college.  I received a Bachelor's in Studio Arts from the University of New Hampshire over a decade ago, and while I travel far and wide as often as possible, I've never permanently left New England.   A four-country tour of Europe in the summer of 2007 reinvigorated my desire to create images that speak to me, concentrating on the intricacies of simple objects in nature.  I am currently exploring nature in macro photography for personal expression while working on expanding my wedding photography services.  Of my journey with my camera, I have reached this point thus far:

''My approach to photography is to study the little details; for me, it's where the emotions lie. This enables me to capture the intimate moments of a wedding day, or the interaction between a mother and child in a very personal way. It's also what makes the perfect spiral of a shell, the delicate skin of a flower, the vibrancy of color around us so fascinating to me.''

I shoot exclusively with Canon equipment.
