Here's what we do:
Series Creative teams: Responsible for the look and feel of a service. They produce the graphics, video and ideas to be used on a Sunday morning.
Tech Teams: Volunteers on this team run the service on Sunday Morning. They are responsible for sound, lights, graphics and cameras. These folks usually have a computer background or are willing and open to be trained. This position is on a rotation and usually the volunteer serves 1-2 times per month.
Worship Teams: Seasoned musicians volunteer for several different services and venues. They must go through an audition process to be a part of this team. Kevin Rogers,Music director. kevinr@heartlandchurch.org to request additional info.

Here's a quick look at what a team does
There are a few things that you should know that we have learned the hard way. We always let you know these things so you know what to expect. READ CAREFULLY & REMEMBER WE WARNED YOU!! 1.Biblical Content drives the creative. 1. The creative process is: bumpycurvyfrustratingunproductive & fun * expect curveballs: it's a unique science to combine the spiritual with creative programming * this process is high risk but it yields a high reward 2. We are made in the God's image and since He is so creative thus so are we!! 3. Brainstorms are supposed to be unproductive! So if you are a Type A personality hang on!! * Only a % of what your team brainstorms will get used * Don't hold on to or marry to one idea. Hold everything loosely! * one idea will lead to someone else's and another may get morphed into something different. Some other ideas may even get"stolen " for another series. Another may not even make it off the ground * The "pitch" is also a brainstorm 4. Why isn't Dan more involved with the team? * time constraints- we often have 3 teams going at once * we want the team to come up with their own ideas without asking Dan -Is that what you want? 5. Communication Plan * The HUB: PRODUCER- leads the team through the creative process, then hands off all plans/designs/intentions to Jenae who directs Sunday Morning. * Jenae-primary staff contact; she will be in contact with the producer and vice-versa * emails are for static info only! Please be mindful not to send critique or criticism via email.(do so by phone call or face to face) 7. Excellence (cathedral work) requires tough decisions * We believe that everything we do is unto the Lord and he deserves the best. So sometimes we have to make tough calls when something is not truly excellent. We don't have to do that often but just know that it could happen if we feel something is not truly up to Heartland excellence standards. 8. Rouse your "reticular activator" The reticular activator is the part of your brain that starts noticing things once you are aware of them (whether it is real or not). Looking to buy a Porsche? Hmmm… everyone seems to be driving Porsches.Concerned about global warming? Hmmm... the weather sure seems warm lately.Whenever your brain detects things that are familiar, unusual or problematic, it sends a message to the conscious side of the brain and says, "Hey, wake up! There's something you need to pay attention to here." So all that to say you will start to notice things that relate to the series. It is a cool thing. |
