Harpelstane has 3 controlling policies, these are ;

Risk Assessment Policy

Prior to all events the Event Steward and Seneschal shall revisit the risk assessment process. It will be the responsibility of the Event Steward that the risk assessment mitigations are followed. Where events are held at Historic Scotland sites the issued assessment will be followed unless additional mitigations are identified specific to that event.

Child Protection Policy

The SCA in Harpelstane has a duty of care to safeguard all children involved in any Harpelstane activity and ensure that they are protected from harm. All children have a right to protection, and the needs of disabled children and others who may be particularly vulnerable must be taken into account. The Harpelstane officers will ensure the safety and protection of all children involved at all Harpelstane events through adherence to the Child Protection guidelines adopted by the Harpelstane Seneschal and Officers.
