WELCOME TO THE CULINARY ARTS AT J.HARLEY BONDS

Welcome Parents and Students,

We are thrilled that you are considering the Culinary Arts program at J. Harley Bonds. We are looking forward to the fall and a new year of hard work both in the classroom and lab and most importantly having some fun as we explore the numerous opportunities that will become available to you throughout the semester. Our culinary program is composed of two curriculum's linked together by a common thread the Hospitality Industry. The students will be exposed to an intense culinary curriculum that is supplemented with a text book that will lead to a state sponsored exam assessing the student’s culinary expertise. The students will also be exposed to over 60 plus years of real world experience that Chef Eaton and I bring to the table. The other component of the curriculum is an introduction into the Hospitality industry which is composed of Restaurant, Hotel and Travel and tourism management. The service industry is one of the fastest growing industries and upon completion of our program the students will have the tools to either start a successful career or continue their education either at a culinary school or University.

The culinary program at Bonds is unique in that we are the only career school in Greenville county that offers college credit for our hospitality classes. The students have an opportunity to earn twelve college credits in two years at Bond’s. The classes are connected to Greenville Tech and are taught using the college syllabus and material. We believe it is a great opportunity for the students to experience college level classes in a high school environment and a great financial savings as the cost of college credits can be daunting.
