My name is Essie Taylor and I teach 8th Grade Social Studies here at Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School. I am elated to have your student in my class this year and I'm ready to partner with you to ensure academic success throughout this school year.

In Eight Grade Social Studies we will learn about South Carolina's history. We will begin with the first dwellers in the state and end with modern day South Carolina.

Our approach to the curriculum in the eighth grade is a flipped classroom model. Students are required to watch descriptive videos from each unit then come in the classroom ready to complete projects and activities that will enforce what they have learned at home.
