Green Point's pubs & night clubs (including many which are gay). Walks along the promenade next to the sea. The flea market next to Green Point Stadium, every Sunday (souvenirs like tribal masks and clay pots from as far as Mali and Ghana). Green Point putt-putt course (021-434-6805) Walk to the top of Lion's head to see the panoramic views of the city. Drive to the top of Signal Hill to see the views. Green Point is a short walk from the V&A Waterfront, Africa's most visited tourist destination. Green Point Lighthouse dates back to 1824 and is the oldest Lighthouse in South Africa, it can be found on Mouille Point's beachfront, and visits may be arranged with the lighthouse keeper. Green Point is close to The Cape Quarter, an upmarket shopping are in De Waterkant. Green Point's main throughfare offers public transport to Cape Town's City Centre (it's about a 20 minute walk), as well as to the sublime beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay. |
