| I was sorting through some old papers today and found some notes that were sent to me by a researcher in England. She visited the records office in Monmouth on my behalf to search for information about the families of James Evans and Sarah Hardwick. She didn't find much, but there was a possible lead. James Evans married Sophia Gardiner on September 29, 1804. They were possibly the parents of James Evans who was born about 1829. The names and locations match, but it's not a definite match. Sophia Gardiner died at Whitchurch on October 25, 1843. Her age was recorded as being 64, which would make it biologically challenging for her to have been the mother of James Evans. The dates or ages could easily be wrong though, and if not the parents of James Evans they could possibly be his aunt and uncle ... or no relation at all. |
