 Welcome to the 2009 Summer Sermon Series at Gethsemane Lutheran Faith Community! This summer, Pastor Tim Thompson and I will focus our Sunday messages on the life of King David, as we reflect together on how it is that God chooses everyday people like you and me to further the work of Kingdom building. We will discover that the stories we learned about Good King David in Sunday School all those years ago were perhaps... incomplete. We might be surprised to understand that David faced the same challenges and the same fears that we face today. And in the end, perhaps we will gain an understanding of how God works in the world; using everyday people to do extraordinary things. In this website, you will find a schedule for the Sermon Series, along with a reading guide that will help you to prepare for the upcoming message. We will also be posting video of the sermons for you to review or to catch up with if you were unable to be at church. And if you would like to be in conversation with us about any of the sermons or the issues they raise, you are invited to join us at the companion blog that has also been set up for this series. It is our prayer that this summer of preaching focus on David will be a blessing to you as individuals and as families and that through this discussion of God's Word we continue in our Mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ: those who Love God, Love One Another and who seek to Serve the World.
