The 10 Days of 24/7 Prayer

History

Transformation Africa gathered momentum in South Africa on 21 March 2001 at Newlands Rugby Stadium, when a record 45,000 Christians prayed for Cape Town. In 2002, Christians gathered in 8 different stadiums across South Africa. In 2003, millions of Christians across 28 African countries united in prayer and in 2004 all 56 African countries (including the islands) prayed for God's blessing in Africa.

Then Africa invited the world to join hands with the African continent in a Global Day of Prayer. On 15 May 2005, Christians from all denominations in more than 156 countries united in prayer to ask God to bless the nations . . . so that the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord (Hab.2:14). This event marked the greatest Christian prayer mobilization in the world with more than 220 million Christians praying together. This move of prayer again miraculously expanded in 2006, when on Pentecost Sunday (4 June 2006) millions of Christians from 199 of the 220 nations of the world united in prayer.

Austin joined the rest of the world in 2005 and 2006, both years gathering at the Delco Center to bring glory to God. In 2005 more than 4000 people from over 50 churches came together as the Body of Christ. 2006 could not contain all in one service, so there were two services of about 3000 people each -- the first in Spanish, the second in English. For this year, we hope to completely fill the Delco Center for both services, with a city-wide choir led by a national recording artist, and a continuation of the emphasis on the people of Austin giving glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!

People's lives have been changed at these events and miracles are occurring in churches, communities and towns.
