In Austin we will do this in a special way. Starting at 8pm on Thursday, May 17, followers of Jesus throughout Austin and Central Texas will pray one after another, joining to form ten days of 24-hr prayer. The 10 days will be located in at least two locations:  the Austin House of Prayer prayer room in East Austin, and the Campus House of Prayer prayer room just off the UT Campus.

In the book of Acts, the disciples gathered in the upper room in obedience to Jesus' command to "watch and pray". For ten days and nights they joined their voice, until God answered their prayer with Pentecost and the birth of the Church. Following this pattern, believers around the world will be praying night and day for the ten days leading up to the Global Day of Prayer on Pentecost. In addition to joining in the Ten Days at AHOP, there are other ways to join in with this global cry:

• View up a GDOP 10-Day Prayer Guide from WayMakers, which has specific scriptures and prayers for each day.
• Pray through the prayer guide as an individual, family, small group, or church.
• Organize prayer meetings at your church for any or all of the ten days.
• Organize 24/10 prayer at your church for all of the ten days (why not?!)
