Hertfordshire  - GB Building Contractors Limited quoted for a complete bathroom refurbishment which included structural changes to the interior of the house, boiler replacement, electrical work and roof replacement including the installation of a lantern roof. The prices were competitive and the project was completed reassuringly well within budget and on time. The final product exceeded all expectations. Due to the complexity of this small project, as many as 9 people were involved at any one time, and it is to Marc Gavin's credit that his excellent project management skills removed any need for intervention or concern. Any changes or snags were discussed openly and honestly and quickly resolved without fuss, drama or worry on either side. Marc is a very reassuring, capable and professional contractor.  It is particularly noteworthy that Marc's team were able to be left in the house to work unsupervised. Security was never an issue. At the end of each day, every effort was made to ensure that the house remained clean, habitable and accessible. Marc's personal boast that his team treats every house as if it was their own and disruption was kept to an absolute minimum. Marc is a hands on project manager who leads by example and has an excellent team behind him. He and his team are highly recommended and to this end I would be happy to give direct personal references.

It is especially satisfying to compliment their standard of work - being of the highest quality as well as your a team of tradesman who were second to none in their individual skills. It was a pleasure to have them "on site", all being extremely friendly, courteous and polite. My biggest joy was to leave the house in the morning looking like a building site and come back to almost normal surroundings. After the birth of our third child we needed to convert our garage to make more space and after getting a few quotes we realised that this would mean investing all our savings to get the work done.  When speaking with Marc about this he was more than happy for us to speak with former clients as well as visit them so I could have total reassurance that all would be fine.  After my first conversation and visit with their current customer I was booked in.  Not only was the work completed two weeks sooner than estimated, my house was cleaned at the end of each day and the interruption to our lives was minimal, and with a new born this was invaluable.  I would recommend GB in a heartbeat and two years on the quality of finish and the little touches still stand merit to the time and care taken on our house.

Berkhamsted – Hertfordshire  -  We are very happy to recommend GB Building Contractors.  They built a one-storey extension onto our house which gave us a bigger kitchen/diner and additional utility room with downstairs cloakroom. We found them to be very personable and very easy to communicate with.  We told them exactly what we wanted and they were able to comply with our requests. They were proactive – persuading us to change the plans (from flat roof to pitched) which was much more beneficial to us, and helping us to re-landscape the garden with the earth dug from foundations. The work was done within the timescale quoted (they finished 2 weeks early!), the builders were always respectful, polite (even the neighbours commented on this!) and tidied up and cleaned after themselves every night.  The price quoted did not increase which was really good as we were on a tight budget!
