and paste ALL the questions below into your email. Then, answer ALL
the questions. (Include your answers underneath each one.)
- Go the the Quadratic Practice page and click on "download live version". (Click on "OK" to open it.) What is the name of the shape you see?
- Play the game at least 5 times. (Move the sliders around til the curve goes through all 3 dots -- it will say "Congratulations!" Then click on "New Dots" to play again.) After you have played 5 times, describe your strategy. (Which coefficients did you adjust first?)
- Move the slider for "a" around. What effect does changing "a" have on the curve?
- Move the slider for "c" around. What effect does changing "c" have on the curve?
- Move the slider for "b" around. What effect does changing "b" have on the curve?
- How can you make the curve turn updside down?
- How can you make the curve "wider"/more open?
- Look at where your curve is and where the sliders are. Then, try to make the same curve, but with the sliders in different places. Is it possible to have a different set of coefficients a,b,c for the same curve? Explain your answer.
