We're making a movie about Boston. All of it.
Sure, we'll have Boston that tourists know - Red Sox, Fourth of July, one if by land, ducklings and duck boats. But much more. The entire city, in fact.
"Boston, You're My Home" is one movie, consisting of fifteen or so short (5-10 minutes) narrative films, each set in a different neighborhood of Boston. Each by a different filmmaker. In a variety of genres.
Right now, we're just getting started. We're looking for screenplays, and filmmakers who want to be a part of "Boston, You're My Home".
For local filmmakers and directors:We are interviewing directors and director/producers for "Boston, You're My Home". If selected, you'll essentially direct your own short film, set in one of the neighborhoods of Boston. You'll have a slice of our production budget to work with. (We will be a SAG ultra- or modified- low budget production.) And guess what? We'll be eligible for the Massachusetts film production tax credit so your short film gets a 20%-25% budget bump. You can bring a project of your own, if it fits into our framework, or direct one of our scripts. We'll provide assistance with crew, casting, pre- and post-production. We're sure you have a lot of questions about how this will work. Contact us at producer@bostonshortfilms.com or call 617/899-0719. If it looks like you're qualified, we'll invite you to one of our organizational meetings early in 2009 where you can get all of your questions answered and make a formal application to be one of our filmmakers. We especially encourage filmmakers from all of Boston's diverse communities to apply. Films do not have to be in English. We are not looking for documentaries. These are all narrative films. For screenwriters:We're soliciting screenplays five to ten minutes in length and set in one of Boston's neighborhoods. We'll accept either a screenplay, or a one to two page treatment.
