| Here are some notes I put together for audio broadcasting but much of the same applies to Internet TV broadcasting. Option One - All The Way All items are professional grade: 1) MacBook Pro 17 inch from Apple.com = $3,000 (most modern windows computers will work but we recommend a pro model Mac) The following are all from http://www.musiciansfriend.com 2) Shure SM 57 & SM 58 Mic Package (Product #270151) = $649 (includes six mics, SKB case cables and clips) This microphone package gives you 6 of the most widely used and reliable stage mics of all time: 4 of the legendary SM58s and 2 of the equally legendary SM57s, plus all the accessories you need for putting them on your mic stands and plugging them in. 3) Shure PGX24/SM58 Handheld Wireless System Product #270676 = $399. 4) Behringer Eurorack UB1202 Mixer Product #631236 = $69.00 (buy two for backup) 5) On-Stage Stands Tripod Mic Stand with Boom Product #452061 = $19.99 (two needed) 6) Musician's Friend Low Profile Die-Cast Mic Stand Product #450832 = $9.99 (two needed) 7) Hercules Stands MB100B Short Boom Product #453068 = $23.99 (two needed) 8) MXL MXL 990 Condenser Microphone Product #273156 = $69.99 (optional but two recommended) 9) Mogami Gold Neglex Quad Mic Cable for Studio Neutrik XLR Product #338010 = 2 six foot at $ 33.95 each; 2 three foot at 31.95 10) Monster Cable S-100 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable Product #331638 = 3 foot for $14.95 Others items: 11) Various adapters and cable from Radio Shack should be less than $100 12) AreaRadio sign and banner $50 13) Monitor headphones $20 (can use iPod type ear buds) 14) Olympus DS-2 Digital Voice Recorder (for interviews and off-site recordings) $90 Total cost of equipment is $1,850 plus the computer $3,000. Again all of this equipment is not necessary to get started and you can use a computer you already own. In addition to the above a reliable broadband Internet connection (DSL or Cable modem) is needed for the LIVE broadcasting up link. Internet connection should be tested using InternetFrog.com prior to each broadcast. All AreaRadio affiliate show producers will receive full support and training from experienced AreaRadio broadcast technicians. |
