Hosted by Foothills Community Church - March 14, 2009 9:00 a.m - 12 noon

See highlighted serving need as well as event details below...

Who: Assembled by the City of Arvada, sponsored by the Colorado Foreclosure Hotline, Hosted by Foothills Community Church
Foothills Contact: Jim Fries 720-934-5600 jfries@foothillsonline.org ; City Contact: Vicky Reier ;Hotline Contact: Sarah Noel
What: Foreclosure Information Seminar
When: March 14th, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon (open house)
[Jim arriving by 8:00 a.m. and locking up afterwards]
Where: Foothills Community Church, Fitness Club Bldg.,
Room 1, 2, 4, and Lounge
8330 W. 80th Ave., Arvada, CO 80005
Why: To help people who may be struggling to pay their home mortgage by connecting them with information resources and people
(No direct resources will be provided but information, counseling and contacts will be available)
More Details:
  • 60-120 people in the past. More expected due to economy and better promotion. They are guessing 150 or more.
  • 3 simultaneous seminars will be presented at the bottom of every hour 9:30, 10:30, 11:30)
Important Note:
We must honor the City's wishes for us not to proselytize or evangelize during the meeting. It IS appropriate to answer questions about our community focused outreach programs and services (Haven's Hope, Food Bank, Growing Home, etc.), including our service times. According to Vicky, the City is aware of the value that faith based organizations bring to the community and desires to coexist for the good of the community .

STILL NEEDED:

Before Thursday noon:
  • Linda F to have cleared out the running track of all items (discussed on 3/4)
  • Vicky to have delivered door signage to FCC by Thursday (confirmed on 3/4)
  • Post signs
  • Close off Haven's Hope from Room 4 and hallways
  • Add short dividers at Lounge area

  • Partners arrive between 8:15 and 8:30
  • City to provide coffee in pots, also providing cups, etc. (per Vicky 3/4)
  • General pick up of building. Building may need some cleaning from Spanish Celebrate Recovery the night before. (Arrive at 8 to help Jim if you can.)
  • Hang out by FCC table, act as host, bring morning snacks (other than coffee), answer questions about a ministry, etc.
  • FCC rep(s) to arrive by 8:30 a.m. or EARLIER IF BRINGING SNACKS
  • They would like to have Children's DVDs playing in the couch area of Room 1
  • Work with partners (people at tables and presenters) to assure they have what they need
Any outreach ministry should have a presence of some sort, either by brochures, flyers, personal presence, or all of the above.
We have a huge chance to impact some people in our community that are possibly in THE MOST PRECARIOUS PLACE IN THEIR LIVES

My hope is that some MC's might adopt this event and take care of some details

Let Jim know ASAP if you can help and what you might be able to do (e-mail or text preferred)   720-934-5600 jfries@foothillsonline.org

Thank you everyone!
