Fall Crew: Central Crew Food Tent Coordinator

posted ‎‎Sep 2, 2008 5:57 PM‎‎ by Bob Herdlein   [ updated ‎‎Sep 2, 2008 5:59 PM‎‎ ]

Dear Central Crew families,

The official fall race season will soon begin. As many of you know, the food
support tent has been an important part of the team experience for the
athletes and families. At last season's end I sent an email request for
additional help coordinating the food tent this fall. I am pleased to
announce that I have a response from one parent who will assist me as
co-coordinator this season. Thank you, Mary M!

I will be soliciting additional parent volunteers/help for specific tasks at
the mandatory parent meeting/registration on Sept. 10.
See you at the meeting.

Welcome and thanks!

FALL FUNDRAISING !!!! :)‏

posted ‎‎Aug 13, 2008 3:58 PM‎‎ by Bob Herdlein   [ updated ‎‎Aug 13, 2008 4:28 PM‎‎ ]

Hello Crew Families,
Please read the following email from 2 of our Rowers that are heading up this fundraising effort.
It is EVERYONES responsibility to support our Club and keep our program running with not only
your financial support, but with the support of your time, volunteering to ensure that all these
fundraising efforts are successful.

Without each and everyone of you, our Rowing program can not succeed. Many hands make light work!!!!!!

Thank you all,
Karen McCarthy

"Fellow Rowers,

As the upcoming fall season approaches, it's time to start thinking
about raising some dough so we can buy some boats and oars, pay for insurance
and other such things our Crew Club needs to keep it "afloat"!!!
In order to do so, the fundraising committee has thought up some great ideas
to make raising money much easier and more fun!

The first fundraiser is going to be selling a raffle calendar for the month
of October. Each athlete is going to sell a minimum of 10 calendars but is
strongly encouraged to sell as many as they can!!! Why you might ask? Because
you can WIN some SERIOUS MONEY for selling the most calendars! There will be
three top cash prizes awarded to the 3 top rowers (male or female) who sell
the most calendars in the period of time given. We will be selling the calendars
as a team starting at registration and ending around the end of September,
considering the calendar starts in October.

As soon as you sell your calendars, turn in the money and the ticket stubs
to Brian Fontaine or Kat Bourque. We will be co-chairing this committee with
the other adults. We will turn in the money, and the stubs will be put into
a daily drawing for October. The calendars will sell for $10 each.

Selling these calendars will be wicked easy, guys! All you have to do is talk
to your family (including aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc.) and walk around
your neighborhood to find people who would like to buy some. Make sure you're
kind and maybe wear your Crew splash-jacket or shirt!!!!! The more money we
get, the more we can buy as a team. Even though we all struggle with math on
crew, if we sell all the calendars printed (1500) at $10 a piece, that's
a lot of money!!! So please do all that you can to at least sell your ten,
and if you sell those, come see one of us for more. If each athlete sold only
20 tickets, we would run out of them! Together we can help make more money
than ever this year! Without calling random people from the library ( as much
as we all enjoy that). :-)

Also please keep in mind that the fund raising committee will be looking for
more athletes to co-chair the other fund raising projects to be undertaken
this year.

Sincerely,
Kat Bourque and Brian Fontaine."
