The Philosopherz Stone is a Theme Camp that usually draws together to attend Transformus, the South Eastern Regional Burn, a Burning Man Style event. Transformus is held annually around the third weekend of July in the mountains of North Carolina just south of Asheville. Although our camp is based around Philosophy and free knowledge & thought, our theme is rather fluid and the game usually becomes how to incorporate our current interests into the theme instead of only bringing things confined to the theme. The Philosopherz Stone first registered as a Theme Camp in 2006 and has been organized by PyroCelt and Midnightt ever since. Many of the Philosopherz hail from a community in Greensboro, North Carolina, which consists mainly of Guilford College graduates. We have a strong belief that Burns do not run themselves, and as such every member is required to volunteer for at least one shift, although many volunteer for many more in broad selection of teams, including (current and past Team Lead positions in bold):

Well, first the Philo's Stone evolved partly due to the fact that the two founding TCOs were alumni with part of their undergraduate double majors in Philosophy (along with something else equally impractical). We thought this would be a fantastic excuse to transition some of our normal Saturday night neighborhood banter into a theme camp where others could participate... Not to mention, we enjoy weird stories and lectures.
