Handbook for hosting marae encounters

This year’s two Regenstein Interns, Caitlin Andrew, a senior in anthropology and music at Lawrence University, and Jeremy Bleeke, a graduating senior at Clayton High School in St. Louis, Missouri—Jeremy is going to Columbia University in the fall—will be working this summer with John Edward Terrell, local community leaders in Chicago, and Chicago-area high school teachers to write a new handbook on hosting marae encounters outside New Zealand.  Working with them will be Gian Santos, a senior at Northwestern University, and Danielle Tyson, a graduating senior at Warren Township High School in Illinois.

Next fall Caitlin and John will be going to Tokomaru Bay with the draft manuscript of the handbook to complete the project with the help of the whanau there.
